Start With a Walk-Through
First, walk every room you want cleared. Do this before you call us or before your appointment day. Take note of what stays and what goes. You don't need to sort everything. You just need a clear idea of the big picture.
Next, mentally separate items into three categories: things you want gone, things you're unsure about, and things you definitely want to keep. That middle category is where most homeowners waste time on the day of service. Make those decisions early. It keeps the job moving.
Mark What Stays
Our crew moves fast. And when a crew moves fast through a cluttered space, confusion happens. So mark what you want to keep.
Use colored tape, sticky notes, or simply move those items to a corner or closed room. This one step eliminates almost every "wait, that wasn't supposed to go" moment. It protects your belongings and protects your wallet, since we price based on what we haul.
Clear a Path to the Items
You don't need to move the junk yourself. That's our job. But if you can clear a walking path from the items to the door, you're doing us a real favor.
Move boxes out of the hallway. Pull the car out of the garage. Unlock the back gate if that's where we're hauling from. These small steps make a big difference, especially for heavier items like appliances, hot tubs, or furniture. Access is everything in this business.
Think About Fragile or Special Items
If there's anything fragile near the area we're working in, move it before we arrive. We're careful. However, when you're hauling a heavy dresser out of a tight bedroom, things happen. Protect your lamps, your framed photos, your grandmother's china. Move them to a safe spot the night before.
Additionally, if you have items that require special handling, like old TVs, appliances with Freon, or paint cans, let us know in advance. Some materials have specific disposal requirements. We can walk you through options when we talk, so there are no surprises on the day.
Separate Donations From Trash
This matters to us. We donate or recycle between 60 and 80 percent of everything we haul. That's not a marketing line. That's how we operate.
If you know certain items are in good shape, set them aside or tell us during the estimate. Furniture, working appliances, tools, clothing, books. We partner with Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Arc Thrift Stores, Goodwill, and the Salvation Army. Those items go to families in South Denver who need them.
When you separate donations ahead of time, you help us help others.
Confirm Access and Parking
On the day of your appointment, make sure our truck can actually get to your property. This is especially important in townhome communities, HOA neighborhoods, or homes with narrow driveways.
If you live in a building with an elevator, reserve it if you can. If there's street parking only, a heads-up helps us plan. These details seem minor, but they affect how fast we can turn around and move on to the next job.
Be Ready at Appointment Time
We respect your time. We show up when we say we will. We ask the same in return.
Be available when we arrive for a quick walk-through. That conversation takes about five minutes. It's where we confirm what goes, address any questions, and lock in the final price before a single item moves. After that, step back and we’ll get to work.
